ACADEMIC PROJECTS AND INITIATIVES

Since 1993, I have been involved in Academia; teaching a wide range of Topic Design Studios and Experimental Drawing Courses at both Undergraduate and Graduate Levels.

Beyond these experiences, I have organized, directed and taught Experimental Design Workshops for and with Architecture Students from across the Americas (LA/LA at SCI-Arc, SoCAL-E>< at NSA+D, Para-SITE traveling workshop at various schools, Taller Enric Coufal, Lideres Academicos at ITESM, etc.)

These courses and workshops have been either conducted at visiting institutions or hosted in American Architecture Schools where the primary goals has been the following:
1- to introduce students to a design methodology that promotes collage and image making as generative design process that mediates between abstraction and representation and ultimately becomes a powerfully illustrative means for resultant projects.
2- to expose students to the architectural and cultural landscape and legacy of Southern California (sites, practices, events and people)
3- to promote meaningful exchanges among the participants and their home institutions.
